Expanded Our Supporter Base: We won 59% of the vote by a margin of 17,471 votes, while receiving 1.5% higher turnout than Orange County and winning 2 precincts that went to Trump.
Flipping Precincts: Of the 5 precincts flipped, 2 were earned back that we had in 2020, 3 went from historic red to current blue.
Carrying Others to Victory: HD42 saw several competitive races overlapping at the local level, ranging from County Commission to School Board. In all races, we helped secure decisive victories, also helping newly elected Senator Carlos Guillermo Smith avoid a campaign altogether.
Leading by Service: Mobilized nearly 1,363 volunteers around community service projects, including clean-ups, hurricane relief, supply drives, and rental assistance education.
Not Just Campaign Canvassing: Revolutionized door to door outreach by distributing direct relief options to Floridians in need as well as calls to action around legislative committee weeks and session, engaging voters on the bill passage process.
Growing Digital Footprint: Reached hundreds of thousands of voters through digital campaigns, creating millions of impressions with voters of all demographics.
Grassroots Organizing: Activated 539 political volunteers who knocked on 28,344 doors, made 19,743 phone calls, and sent 86,098 text messages.
Targeted VBM Push: Phase One of our canvassing operations was to get on the ballot by petition, which we completed last year. After that, we shifted to Vote-By-Mail (VBM) renewal, knocking on doors and sending follow-up text messages and postcards, and all committed to VBM renewal. This resulted in a high VBM request rate in HD42 and a high VBM completion rate. We could not have done any of this without our incredible volunteers.
People Powered Fundraising: Received 3,908 donations with an average donation of $94, raising a total of $353,244.
Leading On The Issues: 2,213 media hits along the campaign trail, getting our message to a local and national audience.
Trained Future Leaders: Trained and managed 100 college & high school interns on our campaign and legislative teams.
Winning Trump Seats: We won 2 precincts that also went to Donald Trump (and DeSantis appointed State Attorney Andrew Bain). In precinct 326, there are about 200 more registered Rs than Ds in the precinct. In precinct 337, there are 274 more registered Rs than Ds.
